Note from Sinnika regarding Private Palo Brunch:
OK, for all of you interested in doing the Private palo brunch, I will need from you ASAP the following: your names and your reservation #. You can either PM me on Disboards with the info or email me directly at: [email protected]
Here's how the private brunch works: the room holds up to 14 people in a private dining area. The last time we did it, our time was around 10am. I think they only book one group per brunch. This is an adults only dining and there is a dress code (no shorts). Capris are fine but men will need to wear slacks and nice shirt (no tie required for brunch). Cost is $15 pp plus tip.
As soon as I get 14 people, I will send the info in. I will also start a waitlist in case we have any drop outs. I am going to request the 2nd sea day (June 4th) as the first choice (by then we will know each other from the Dismeets and sharing excursions - we'll be old friends by then!:grouphug: ) The 2nd choice will be the 1st sea day (May 27th). I would like to do a Dismeet that day so hoping we get the 2nd sea day.
Just some things to consider: there will also be a character brunch on this cruise (usually offered on 3 different sea days on cruises of 7 days or longer).
DCL could not tell me which day the third day might be. If you are 1st dining, your character breakfast will be early, but if you are 2nd dining, it may conflict with the Palo brunch time if you have kids that want to go to the character breakfast. Of course, if your kids are older, they could go on their own, or you could have one spouse go to the character breakfast and the other to Palo if there is a conflict. However, you will not know your dining rotation until you board the ship. Our last brunch, several of the husbands did not come (they didn't want to dress up! LOL, No, really!)
Keep in mind that if we get the Private Palo brunch, if you have made another Palo brunch reservation, that other reservation will cancel out. DCL will contact me 25-30 days prior to sail date. Their rule is that you can only have one Palo brunch, one high tea and one dinner per cruise pre-booked. Of course you can always try for a second one after you board. Last cruise, the high tea was barely filled. Of course with lots of Europeans cruising, this might be more popular!
So here is my suggestion - go ahead and also make a Palo brunch ressie when your window opens up.
The brunch is fabulous and one of the harder ressies to get since it is only offered on sea days.
Here is some other info about making those bookings for dining/excursions/spa. I just got these dates from DCL:
The booking window opens up at midnight (eastern time) for the following:
Platinum (more than 10 cruises) and concierge: Jan 26th
Gold (6-10 cruises): Feb 10th
Silver (1-5 cruises): Feb 25th
New cruisers: March 12th
So for example, my booking time window opens at 11pm (central time) on Feb 24th. Can't wait for the countdown! I'm already tasting those crab legs and chocolate souffle from Palos!
Also, if you meet friends and want to share a table when dining, I recommend linking your ressies AFTER you have made your dining/excursion/spa ressies. Still plenty of time, but won't interfere with your other ressies. Tables can hold as much as 18 people. Last time we had a group of 9. We rotated seats to sit next to different people each time!
I think that's all for now! Looking forward to getting the Palo brunch bunch list!
